About the Lodge

Victoria Park Lodge is a beautiful seniors' home located in Souris, Manitoba. Victoria Park Lodge, or "V.P.L.", is situated in the perfect location near Down Town Souris and overlooks the scenic Victoria Park and Campground. This location provides many benefits to residents as it is within very short walking distances of coffee shops, restaurants, the post office, pharmacies, medical clinic, and many other local businesses. The view from V.P.L. is unprecedented. Looking down over the park provides a stunning view and highlights the park's beauty through all seasons. The park view looks over the "bowl", which is shaped like a natural arena. The bowl hosts events like annual fireworks, local sports, live entertainment on the stage, winter tobogganing and has even hosted the RCMP Musical Ride a few times.

V.P.L. is the place for seniors who want to live independently, or need a few extra services to enhance their retirement years.  The building is divided into two wings of rooms which are connected by a central area containing the main dining room, kitchen, activity room, and offices.

The North Wing of the building features fully self contained apartments equipped with full kitchens and bathrooms. An on-site main floor laundry room is provided.  North wing residents can live independently while utilizing all features of the building, or choose to add services/packages such as meals and house keeping if they choose.

The South Wing of the building consists of rooms not equipped with kitchens. Those who live in the South Wing residents pay a monthly fee which includes all meals, and all other utilities and services except for personal phone and internet.

The basic conditions of residency require residents to be capable of looking after themselves as they would in their own home.  This may require some help from "Home Care" or family.  Victoria Park Lodge is NOT a personal care home. V.P.L. staff will not provide any personal care, medical care, lifting, or rides.   In the event of medical need, local family members or designated persons will be contacted to provide a course of action and/or transportation if the resident is unable to do so on their own.  If the situation is deemed an Emergency an ambulance will be called. V.P.L. residents are free to come and go as they choose.  Doors are never locked from the inside.
